Happy Wednesday, everyone! We’re halfway through the week and here’s hoping it’s been a good one for all of you.
It’s hard to believe my first book released just over a week ago. It’s still an exciting experience every day, from seeing new reviews pop up (thanks to those of you who have left reviews!) to having author copies delivered for giveaways.
But I can’t linger in the excitement forever. It’s marked as book 1, so obviously a sequel has to come eventually, and it’s time to shift my focus to that.
Drafting the sequel to Demon Whispers is officially underway once again! I’m at ~3,000 words written so far this week, with ~35,000 words in the book total so far. I’m estimating 85,000-90,000 for book two, so I’ve got a ways to go yet. That won’t stop me though. I’ve set the ambitious goal of finishing the first draft my the end of June. That gives just over 5 weeks to write ~50,000 words. Should be doable. I mean, I’ve won NaNoWriMo before, and that gives you slightly less time!
From there, I’ll be jumping into a self-edit of the book before getting it sent out to some beta readers. Then more editing based on that, and then one (hopefully) final revision.
I don’t have exact dates yet, but the goal is to launch book 2 no later than mid-November. If the editing process goes faster than expected, you may even see it sooner! As the process moves along, expect to see a cover reveal, snippets, and all sorts of fun things.
For now, though, it’s back to writing for me.
Have a great day!
PS: Speaking of giveaways, I’m currently running a paperback giveaway for Demon Whispers on Goodreads. Feel free to enter! Or, if you’d just like to pick up the book, do so here.
