Sunday Scribbles: Video Game Distractions

Good morning (afternoon, or evening)!

I rise from slumber to tell you all about my latest time sink/distraction that is managing to somewhat keep my focus off the nerves created from finalizing the self-publishing process for my first book.

Planet Zoo is basically the new-gen Zoo Tycoon and I am absolutely loving it. I haven’t gone all in and started my own zoo yet. I’m working through career mode which, in oversimplified terms, is a series of tutorials. Don’t assume that means they’re easy though, because I’ve definitely encountered chaos going through these.

Like my grizzly bear refusing to stay in its enclosure!

I’ll likely be sinking a lot of my free time into this (proof: 17 hours played since Thursday), before I eventually balance it out with my other video games. I love finding games that absolutely take over my day; they’re almost always super relaxing ones – like Stardew Valley – though this one can cause sporadic stress. It’s a great way to decompress after dealing with other obligations.

That was all from my for today though. What games or other things help you decompress after long days?

PS: Keep your eyes peeled for big self-publishing announcements coming this week.
